Newly qualified social workers joining Wigan benefit from our offer and commitment which aims to ensure all practitioners in Wigan feel that they have the right level of emotional and practical support in place to help them develop and excel in their social work career. Here at Wigan Council we offer a second supported year in employment, it focuses on opportunities to develop social worker’s skill sets and supports in their ambitions for future career progression. Wigan offer a comprehensive career pathway from newly qualified to Aspiring Leaders.

During the presentation we will explain:
- Wigan culture and background about the council
- The benefits Wigan can offer you as an employer
- Family Safeguarding practice model and the benefits for SW’s and families
- Our fantastic and well established ASYE and SSYE programmes
- Wigan’s career pathway framework
- Testimonials from those currently working at Wigan
