We are looking for a motivated social worker to join our MDT as part of the acute care pathway. The role will be across the acute care pathway which includes our community CAMHS acute services & inpatient unit. The successful applicant will have a minimum of two years post registration experience. Ideally with experience within a CAMHS setting.
We are looking for an individual who is keen to work with young people who are struggling with their mental health in both a community & inpatient setting.
You will provide a comprehensive, effective & integrated social work service to young people & their families & carers using our services.
You will work closely with & be an active and vital member of the MDT, supporting colleagues in relation to childrens social care, safeguarding needs & mental health legislative guidance.
Due to the specialist nature of the role, candidates will require combined extensive knowledge & experience of both the work of childrens social care & child & adolescent mental health services with a sound in-depth knowledge of child care & mental health legislation.

Main duties of the job
To discharge statutory social care functions on behalf of the organisation and to uphold the standards outlined in the Professional Capabilities Framework for Social Work. They are required to undertake complex and proportionate assessments that are evidence-based. The post holder is also required to arrange and review the delivery of social care support.
Support people to take positive risks in complex situations as part of an MDT so that their outcomes and wishes are promoted.
Undertake safeguarding investigations and consider decisions made in a persons best interest that may deprive them of their liberty.
Promote and uphold the privacy, dignity, rights, health and wellbeing of people who use health and care services and their carers, at all times.
Work in collaboration with colleagues to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare, care and support
Communicate in an open and effective way to promote the health, safety and wellbeing of people who use health and care services and their carers.
To be legally literate with the Care Act (2014), the Mental Capacity Act (2005) and Human Rights Act (1998). To have a good understanding of the Mental Health Act (1983) and its subsequent amendments and the Children Act (1989).
To have an awareness of national policy and guidelines and how these should be used in practice.
Preparing legal documents for court and representing the organisation in a court setting.
