We have a fantastic opportunity for an organised and motivated individual to join our Independent Living Team as a Senior Practitioner.

You will work with the Team Leader to ensure that agreed staffing levels are maintained within the team and that work plans/rotas are in place and are updated to meet the changing needs of service users.

The service is regulated by the Care Inspectorate, and so you’ll be responsible for providing and coordinating the provision of direct care and support to service users in line with Care Inspectorate regulations. If needed, you’ll signpost to other services to allow service users to live independently at home. You will also mentor and support staff members during their probationary period or in the on-going development of their practice.

You will support the Team Leader in ensuring practice observations are carried out on staff, service user feedback on service delivery is systematically and regularly obtained and reviewed and that audits of Support Plans have been completed to ensure the required standards of Support Planning are met.

It’s a hugely fulfilling role, suiting those who love to care and support others to thrive. We’ll also provide the right candidate the opportunity to undertake training to attain SVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent). Already holding this qualification, or equivalent, would be advantageous.

Say hello to the team...
The Independent Living (IL) & Crisis Response (CR) service (IL/CR) supports people in the space between hospital and home and responds to the needs of people in crisis following an emergency; maintaining an extensive network of external relationships across health, social care, and emergency services.

About you...
To be successful in this post you must have following skills and experience:

A good level of secondary education
SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) - preferred (or willing to work towards)
Willingness to register with the Social Services Council as a Supervisor in a Care at Home and Housing Support Service
A willingness to work flexibly in accordance with the pattern set out in the duty rotas in place
Ability to accept responsibility for the overall running of the service in the absence of a senior member of staff
Hold a full UK Driving Licence and have access to a vehicle

The closing date for applications is 23.59 on Monday the 20th of June 2022 with interviews to follow.

This role requires use of full Personal Protective Equipment, including Fluid resistant face masks, to be worn at all times while delivering services. This will be provided for you.

The role will involve frontline work with vulnerable service users and will not always allow for a 2-metre social distance to be maintained. You will be asked to complete a Risk assessment to confirm you are able to take up Frontline work, at onboarding stage. If you consider yourself to be a person at greater risk from COVID-19 or you are unable to wear a facemask for long periods of time, then this role may not be suitable for you.

We offer a wide range of staff benefits, these include:

36 days holiday (including Bank Holidays)
Option to buy an extra 5 days annual leave
Up to 6% contributory pension
Flexible working policy
