We are currently recruiting a Newly Qualified Social Worker to join our team!

Thank you for your interest in potentially joining Cafcass as a Newly Qualified Social Worker (NQSW).

Few jobs are as important as protecting a child’s needs and wishes and that’s why our training programme gives an exceptional grounding in children’s social care. Therefore, if you join us, over three years, we’ll equip you to do something vital and amazing: to be the voice of the child in family court proceedings.

We will be officially accepting applications for our 2023 cohort from Monday 20th February but if you want to register your interest, we’ve a very basic, quick application form to capture some information so that we can contact you when you can apply. Or if you prefer, visit www.cafcass.gov.uk/careers/current-vacancies after this date.

In 2023 we are planning to recruit up to 20 NQSWs to join us and because we operate across England from 30+ offices, we have opportunities across the country. From Brighton and Portsmouth on the south coast, all the way up to Carlisle and Newcastle, we are recruiting for talented, passionate individuals who can relate to our purpose.

The locations we intend to recruit to are:

Birmingham Coventry London Norwich
Brighton Durham Maidstone Portsmouth
Carlisle Leicester Manchester Sheffield
Chelmsford Liverpool Newcastle Stevenage

If one (or more) of these locations is one that interests you, before you formally apply (from 20th February onwards), we’ll tell you more about the programme.

In the meantime, in terms of our criteria, we’re looking for soon-to-be qualified Social Workers (or those who’ve gained a recognised qualification since 2021) to join us. You will already have (or shortly will have) an undergraduate qualification a 2:1 or above, or if a postgraduate qualification this needs to be merit or higher.

You will also need to have to be able to register with Social Work England by July so that you can commence your employment with us during September. Finally, to be eligible for the ASYE you will need to have not held a social work role previously or have commenced another ASYE programme.

We plan to host a webinar in mid-March to allow you to meet some of our Social Work Academy team and colleagues who have completed the programme before, details on how to register for this will also be available from Monday 20th onwards.

Thank you again for your interest in progressing your social work career with Cafcass.
